Finish grading doesn't get talked about enough. It's not the flashiest part of a new build - but get it wrong, and you're dealing with drainage problems, uneven settling, and headaches that cost real money to fix later. Get it right, and everything that comes next goes smoothly.

That's exactly what we were out in Northfield taking care of. A fresh homesite that needed to be properly graded before the next phase of construction could move forward. The goal is simple: a clean, even surface that sheds water the right way and gives the crew coming in behind us a solid foundation to work from.

We use a skid steer with a grading bucket to work the soil across the entire site - pushing, pulling, and leveling until the grade is dialed in. It's detail work. You're constantly reading the land, making small passes, and checking your work. A rushed finish grade shows up later in ways that are hard to undo.

What we ended up with here is a homesite that's ready to go. Clean edges, consistent slope, no low spots where water's going to pool. That matters whether the next step is landscaping, concrete flatwork, or sod installation.

We take this stuff seriously because the people building these homes are making a significant investment. The least we can do is make sure the ground underneath is set up right from the start. That's what we do - site prep and land clearing done the right way, every time.
