This is one of those jobs where the prep work is everything. We're currently mid-build on a gravel parking lot in Pleasant Prairie, and what you're looking at is the result of clearing out heavy brush and overgrown vegetation that had taken over the site - ground that needed serious work before a single load of gravel could go down.

Land clearing is where it all starts. Before any grading or gravel can happen, the site has to be stripped back and cleaned out. Overgrown trees, shrubs, roots - all of it has to go. Skip that step, and you end up with a soft, uneven base that shifts, ruts, and drains poorly. We don't cut corners on the clearing phase because what's underneath determines how the whole lot performs.

Grading comes next, and it's just as important as what came before it. A flat lot isn't necessarily a well-drained lot. We shape the surface so water moves away from the area the way it's supposed to - no pooling, no soft spots developing over time. That's what keeps a gravel lot functional through Wisconsin winters and wet springs.

This kind of work isn't glamorous, but it matters. A properly built gravel lot holds up under real use. Heavy vehicles, frequent traffic, rain - it takes a beating. When the base is built right from the start, the lot stays stable and usable for years without constant maintenance headaches.

We take pride in helping local properties go from overgrown and unusable to clean, functional, and ready. This Pleasant Prairie lot is well on its way.
