Rough grading doesn't get talked about much, but it might be the most important step in the whole process. Before the lawn goes in, before the landscaping takes shape, before any of the finishing work happens - the ground has to be right. If it isn't, you end up with drainage problems, erosion, and headaches that are much harder to fix after the fact.

This is where we come in. On new construction like this, our job is to shape the soil around the home so water moves away from the foundation the way it's supposed to. That means establishing the right slope, clearing out debris and rough material, and leaving the site in a condition that's actually ready for what comes next. It's less glamorous than the finished product, but it matters just as much.

Builders rely on us to get this part right because it directly affects everything downstream. Landscapers need a clean, graded surface to work from. Irrigation systems need to be installed in ground that's already been shaped properly. Even seeding and sodding depends on having a level, well-drained base. When the grading is off, every one of those steps gets harder.

We work with both homeowners and builders on site prep and grading. Whether it's a single lot or a larger development, the standard is the same - get the ground right so the rest of the job goes smoothly. That's something we take seriously every time we're on a site.
